Occupation:  Legal Secretary

How were you introduced to CrossFit & How long have you been doing CrossFit? 

 I wanted to weight train and looked up my closest gym. I joined about a year ago, but truly committed 16 weeks ago.

What Made You Decide to Join CrossFit Markham?

As soon as I met Anna, I knew she could help me reach my goals.

Favourite Lifts/ WODs?

I love using the barbell with weights on the ends, it makes me feel all grown up and like the real pros at the gym.

Proudest Accomplishments:

Lifting 130 lbs on my 62nd birthday; six months ago I could barely carry my purse and had so little strength in my legs that my daughter would help me down from a Go Train.

Something People Wouldn’t Know About Me:

That I had been ill and had multiple surgeries and treatments.

Biggest Struggle in Life?

Breast Cancer.

Do You Have a Mentor, or Someone You Look Up To? If So Who? 

I don’t really have anyone specific,  I admire anyone who commits to fitness

Who Inspires You? 

Anna Cristini!– When I grow up I want to be just like her!!!  She is kind, consistent and leads through example.

It is important for me to look and be as healthy as I can.  When I meet a person who has been diagnosed with an illness, I hope that I am an example of taking one day at a time, getting through the treatments and coming out the other side stronger than before.
