How were you introduced to Cross Fit & How long have you been doing CrossFit?
In the Summer of 2017 fellow CFM member and my neighbour Richard Bicknell convinced my to do a trial… I had no idea what to expect at the time, and how it would end up becoming such an important part of my routine.
What made you decide to join CFM ?
During that first trial period, I couldn’t believe how great the community was – heck, I didn’t even realize there was a ‘community’ before I got to experience CFM! Incredibly supportive of this ‘newbie’ dropping in, I realized that this was THE place I wanted to workout, and I’ve never looked back since.
Favourite Lifts/ WODs?
Favourite WOD is Murph…. I don’t really have a fav lift, but love all the gymnastics/calisthenics/bodyweight stuff as it really helps improve my other sports.
3 Things you would definitely find in my fridge…
Protein Shakes, Cold Beer and plenty of Salad 🙂
Favourite Place to Eat:
Los Colibris (but it just closed!) or locally am always at Southside.

Something people wouldn’t know about me:
I’m an avid Snowboarder still trying to compete.
Biggest Struggle in Life?
Life is always full of ups and downs, struggles and challenges – my biggest would be knowing when to step back and lean on someone else for help.
Do you Have a Mentor, or Someone You Look Up To? If so Who?
I was lucky to have been raised by very entrepreneurial parents, who have given me the guidance and drive to make things happen. Always hoping that I can offer the same for the next generation.
Who Inspires You?
Like many of us here, I am continually inspired by those I see daily at CFM, continuing to work and try hard, even if we all aren’t fire-breathing CrossFit athletes… Joining all the other normal folks making progress, and achieving personal goals as a community is amazing and inspiring.
What Goals are You Working Towards?
My primary goal when coming to CFM was to strengthen my always-sore back, and improve my flexibility — which has worked out amazingly well. I am really focused on improving all of my gymnastic movements to continue to improve my mobility – and a personal goal to nail the Handstand walk (almost there!).
What Music I Like Listening to While Working Out:
I’ll flip depending on my mood, but you may catch me listening to old-school house music, or new country, depending on the day, but I am a big advocate of just slamming the big ‘random’ button. 🙂

Thanks to everyone that is a part of this crazy CrossFit family! It’s been an amazing ride so far, and I appreciate all the advice, guidance and support from all around – not just the coaches, but the other fantastic members as well.
