How were you introduced to Cross Fit & How long have you been doing CrossFit?

I joined CrossFit in February 2017. I was in a bit of a funk and tired of going to a regular gym full of ellipticals and treadmills (Goodlife) and wanted to make a drastic change in my workouts. I did a lot of research on all of the CrossFit gyms in the area and CFEW kept popping up! I dropped in for my trial class and signed up for a year membership a week later ! I would not turn back!!

What made you decide to join CFEW ?

The sense of community is like no other.. I was welcomed so quickly by the coaches who really go out of their way to help you. I can honestly say we have the best CrossFit family!!

Favourite Lifts/ WODs?

Back squats/ front squats, cleans…Pretty much anything with a barbell except snatches, my overhead mobility needs some SERIOUS work

3 Things you would definitely find in my fridge… 

Cheese, sparkly water and fruit yum

Favourite Place to Eat:

Italian, Mexican, Greek.. I LOVE all things spicy

Proudest Accomplishments:

More recently participating in the shred challenge. During the programming I set a goal for myself with coach Rob to lose 15lbs before my sisters wedding. With consistent training and really changing my eating habits I managed to hit my goal. The Shred Challenge really opened my eyes on what proper nutrition is and how much it impacts your performance in the gym..It was one of the best decisions I have made!!

Something People Wouldn’t Know About Me:

I’ve dined with The Beckhams!.. well they were eating at the table behind us, but Victoria did say hi to us!! best moment of my life haha

Biggest Struggle in Life?

This past year was very hard for me. Losing both of my grandparents 10 weeks apart was really difficult and it was hard to find the motivation to get back into the gym. The shred program forced me to stay on track and be consistent in my programming, I made it a serious goal to stick by it no matter what.

Do you have a Mentor, or Someone you look up to? If so Who?

Definitely my mum and dad! They both came to Canada in their early 20’s to build a better life and raise a family. They are two of the most hardworking people I know. My sister and I are very lucky to have been put through University and given the opportunities that they never had. We would be lost without them!

Who Inspires you?

All of the mums in the gym! Anita, Doriana, Sabrina x2, Elita, Gio, Marisa, Maria, Nubbia, Margaret, Nicole the list goes on!! I am amazed at the commitment and dedication they all have. The work they put in and outside of the gym.. I don’t know how you do it!!

What Goals are you Working Towards?

I don’t practice enough.. but do want to make it a priority to start stringing some HSPU’s together !

What Music I like Listening to While Working Out:

Anything 90s, old school, hip hop, dance, anything but country!!! Sorry Sandra/ Rob

I just wanted to thank all the coaches at CFEW for all the help these past few years, I can definitely say that CrossFit has changed me physically and mentally.. it pushes me everyday and that’s what I love most. I seriously love being a member!
