Name:

Erika Vecchiarelli

Teacher (starting this September)

How were you introduced to Cross Fit & How long have you been doing CrossFit?

I started CrossFit this January and absolutely love it! My cousin bought me a two week pass to try out and ever since then I have not looked back.

What made you decide to join RCFEW?

I decided to join RCFEW because it is a home away from home. For me, stepping into the gym has become one of my favourite parts of the day and the sense of community in the space is undeniable. I have built such amazing friendships that help me stay determined and committed!

Favourite Lifts/ Wods?

Back Squats, power squat cleans and I want to say snatching for when I finally can figure out the technique.

3 Things you Would Definitely Find in My Fridge…

Overnight oatmeal, eggs, almond milk

Favourite Place to Eat:

It is very hard to pick just one because I love food, but I’ll say pretty much any Italian or Mexican restaurant.

Proudest Accomplishments:

Growing up I always looked up to people that found a way to put fitness first and make it a critical part of their daily life. For years I tried to become this person and failed at multiple attempts. It’s been a year and a half now that I have been consistent at the gym and accomplishing my fitness goals. I still have a ways to go, but I am happy to become the person I always wanted to be.

Completing my Bachelor in Social Work and Masters in Teaching.

Competing in my first members competition and coming in 1st in the Scaled Division! Also, the first time I got a HSPU and toes to bar were really big moments for me!

Something People Wouldn’t Know About Me:

That I am really passionate about social justice education.

Biggest Struggle in Life?

Last year personally was one of the hardest years losing two very important people in my life. Having CrossFit seriously helps me get through it everyday.

Do You Have a Mentor, or Someone You Look Up To? If So Who?

My mentors are my parents because they always find joy and happiness no matter what hardship they are faced with.

Who Inspires You?

Coach Sandra because she is a school teacher that stays committed to both her fitness goals and career! I hope I am able to be as dedicated and bad ass as her one day! Also, all the moms at RCFEW because they stay committed to all of their goals no matter how busy their schedules may be.

What Music I like Listening to While Working Out:

The Spanish music in Oscar’s classes and Cardi B in Sandra’s classes!

Anything Else You Would Like to Say (Open Comments):

Thank you to the RCFEW community for being so welcoming and amazing. You all are the best and have helped me grow so much!
